    You get large fat …
    You get large fat shoots and you cut them. Then it sends up more. You cut those. It sends more and you cut those. Each time they get thinner. When they get as thin as a pencil you stop and let the plants grow to replenish the roots. You get alot from one set of roots and that’s year after year. Pretty cool!

    So after 3 years you will get 5 pieces of asparagus?! That does not sound like a very good deal. So you would have to wait for 4 years to get one can of asparagus?

    What are you using for the mulch?

    Thats going to be serious asparagus,no competition. Mine were but are very overcome with brome grass, still I get some nice to eat every spring. I grew mine from seed.
