What do you think about organic growing foods vs. organic growing foods?

by Tricia

Question: “I am working on a speech, planning to speak at a State Ag Concention and would like any consumer replies and opinions. thanks!

sry. i meant. organic vs. NON-organic food growth.”

Suggestions:

I hope you mean organic vs. inorganic?

Speaking for myself, I plant a garden twice a year, have been for the past ten years now. I can tell you that organic growing, I.E. no chemicals, tastes 110% better. Guaranteed better for you, and it even looks better. Cost is cheaper, simply because it’s all natural. You don’t think they had pesticides in the old days do ya? Nope, they didn’t. They just found other plants and things to drive the pests away.

What tips do you have for organic gardening?

by Tricia

Question:  “I try to garden without any chemicals added. What tips do you have? Especially in regards to pest control?”
Suggestion:

I love the book Secrets of Companion planting. I’ve never used any chemicals, but thats probably why I spend at least a hour a day in my gardens pulling weeds. Composting is another great thing (and I have horses!)
