How to garden organically

Organic Gardening,?

Do you anything about organic fertilizers, Home made,

If you choose to use manures, especially from animals that pass some of the seeds, you have to let the compost pile heat up hot enough to kill those seeds (160 -180 degrees, I think), otherwise they will come up in your garden. There are many good books on both organic gardening & composting. I used the Encylopedia of Compost.

    all organic means is that no chemicals where used in growing the vegetables specifically pesticides.
    fertilizers used = manure ( chicken poo is best highest nitrogen content)

    Make a compost bin. All of your garden scraps and leaves and grass clippings can go into it. It makes a really rich humus to put around your plants. If you are close enough to the country, go get some manure. Horse manure is very good fertilizer. Cattle, chicken, and turkey manure needs to age a little because it is too rich.

    3 of the best;
    1)rotted comfrey leaves diluted in water, A1 for fruiting plants like tomatoes
    2)rotted nettles ditto, great for leaf production e/g/ cabbages
    3) fresh urine, well diluted, high in nitrogen for fast growth. Not if you're taking any prescription drugs, though.

About Author

I've been an avid gardener most of my life and I've always had an interest in organic gardening. My parents always had gardens when I was a child and while I can't say that no chemicals were used, most products and methods used to maintain the garden were natural. Now that I have a garden of my own (past 7 years) I've gone strictly organic. This blog is my attempt to share Organic Gardening Tips with you.
